My friend Ashlen invited me to a 30 day drawing challenge, and so far I haven't stuck to it so religiously. I have completed 3 out of the 5 entries I should have. Honestly...I don't think I'm as focused as I want to be, but that's okay. I'm trying not to beat myself up too hard these days, even though I'm incredibly talented at it.
Day 1: Yourself
Believe it or not I was actually trying to draw myself happy, since I keep telling myself I am...and believe myself to be so. Yet, I'm amazed by the fact that even my drawing pen can't lie. My eye in this drawing looks incredibly lost...like there's something it's longing for, but just can't find. It looks desperate. I honestly thought I was just looking in the mirror...and drawing what I saw. I hope I don't walk around looking THAT desperate.
Day 2 & 3: Favorite Animal & Favorite Food
Day 2's drawing is indeed a drawing of my lovely cat Sybil. She is football-shaped, can be very flatulent, overly affectionate, an attention whore, but has a crazed, evil side to her. I swear I'm the only one who sees it. I think her name fits very well with her multiple personalities.
Day 3's picture is just a silly little doodle. I had it for the first time this last summer at the Vine in Minocqua, WI, right across the street from where I hear Chris got arrested for "indecent exposure." Memories! It's a Tapas place that also serves wine...and I died from how happy my taste buds were. Yet, this doodle has an old-fashioned comic style to it. 'Cause I feel youthful today...despite my tummy ache.
